"When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."

Your liberty is my passion! Government Takes All, What’s Left for Me?  is a concise understanding of how we need to think and what we need to do to stay free. Unless we actively do something, the nature of things is to move toward bondage, not liberty. Civil government tends to increase and therefore our personal liberty tends to decrease unless we diligently work to preserve our freedom. Indeed the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

Government Takes All details the responsibilities and limits on the five spheres of authority: (1) the individual, (2) the family, (3) the church, (4) voluntary associations (including business) and (5) civil governments.

The truths in Government Takes All can be understood by children, so adults need to embrace these principles and teach them to our children.

This is an amazing book. It’s a blessing, and it’s changing the nation of Colombia. These truths are spreading as my students have been using what they learned from Government Takes All, to teach others. The truths found in this book have been a revelation to most Christians in Latin America, and I plan to begin to bring this valuable resource to the entire continent of South America. We need to reestablish Christian self-government instead of heavy-handed civil government to bring our nations back to the Governor of the Universe and His ways.

Mrs. Hall

In his book “Government Takes All . . . What’s Left for Me?” Dr. Max Lyons explains in a simple manner about the jurisdictions of the family, the church, volunteer associations, and government according to God’s Word. I know that I had a few “Ah ha!” moments as he explained passages of scripture in relation to government. Additionally, I appreciate how he adds to the understanding of self-government and the role of the individual within our Constitutional Republic.

Another specific area where I appreciate clarity is found in Chapter 5: Education and Welfare—Whose Jurisdiction? Super helpful!

It’s small and concise—a PERFECT read for busy individuals! (It also makes a great addition to one’s high school curriculum.)

Arielle Lyons

Government Takes All is a very logic explanation of the five spheres of authority that God created. Dr. Lyons does an excellent job detailing each of the five spheres, and most importantly explaining the limits for each. It is now clear to me what the Bible teaches in this area. I also now know what I can do to help restore our Constitutional Republic. I highly recommend this book to every American Christian who wants to be used by God to bring revival and reformation to our nation.

Paulo Fillion shows Max Lyons his first course in his online School of Government. Max’s two books are part of the curriculum: Government Takes All, What’s Left for Me? and Free Men and Free Markets, The Bible on Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship
